Their son Henry (Colin’s 5th great grandfather) was born in 1701 in Breedon on the Hill, Leicestershire and he married Sarah Pinder (see her ancestry here) on 14 November 1731 in Hartshorne, Derbyshire, England
Henry and Sarah’s son William (Colin’s 4th great grandfather) was born in Melbourne, Derbyshire in 1740. He married Mary Richardson (see her ancestry here) on 1 May 1764 in Ticknall, Derbyshire.
Their son John (Colin’s 3rd great grandfather) was born in Ticknall in 1769.. John married Sarah Kendrick in Sawley, Derbyshire in 1794 and their son William (Colin’s 2nd great grandfather) was born in 1794.
William (a printer on his child’s 1820 baptismal record and an engineer on his child’s 1831 baptismal record) married Alice May (see her ancestry here) on 19 September 1820 in Towcester, Northamptonshire (see more on William and Alice Orton’s family here).
Their son William (Colin’s great grandfather) was born in 1826 in Bracknell, Northamptonshire and he married Louisa Isabella Dutton (see her ancestry here) on 11 September 1850 in Knightsbridge, Middlesex.
Their son William James Orton (Colin’s grandfather) was born in Peckham, London in 1855 and married Marie Meyer in July 1896 in Kensington, London.
